Norville Opticians are proud to introduce Optical Coherence Topography in their Stonehouse practice. This cutting edge technology, in conjunction with our comprehensive eye examination enables us to detect potentially sight threatening problems much earlier than achievable with conventional equipment.

OCT produces 3D images of the layers of your retina enabling us to detect, and monitor, any abnormalities and so you can be sure that you can be referred for treatment if required at the earliest possible stage.

Anyone can have an OCT scan. By being able to detect very subtle changes to the retina that cannot be detected through other methods it can ensure that any threat to your health or vision gets the soonest possible treatment. Our eye exam and OCT scan offers peace of mind.

Glaucoma is a sight threatening disease that gives you no warning until irreversible damage has been caused. If detected in time, by your optometrist, it is easily treated. The OCT scan can show the very earliest signs of Glaucoma ensuring that you get prompt treatment. A family history of Glaucoma makes you more susceptible yourself.

For diabetics it is a further check that goes beyond the standard retinal screening as the OCT can look through the layers of the retina to detect problems earlier than retinal photography.

An OCT scan is not covered by the NHS and there is a separate fee to pay for it.
